Conseguenze Brexit settore imballaggi in legno

[:it]Dal 10 febbraio 2020, il Regno Unito si è ritirato dall’Unione Europea ed è diventato un “paese terzo”, fatta eccezione per l’Irlanda del Nord che, per altri quattro anni, continuerà ad applicare le norme UE e che si dovrà dotare di una propria Autorità Competente.

L’accordo di recesso prevede un periodo di transizione che termina il 31 dicembre 2020. Fino a tale data, il diritto dell’UE nella sua interezza continuerà ad essere applicato nel Regno Unito.

Dal 1 gennaio 2021 diventeranno obbligatori i seguenti adempimenti:

• tutto il materiale da imballaggio in legno che transita tra Regno Unito e UE, in entrambe le direzioni, dovrà essere conforme allo Standard Internazionale per le Misure Fitosanitarie ISPM15, come per qualunque altro Paese extra-UE
• tutti gli operatori che importano legname e prodotti da esso derivati dal Regno Unito (indipendentemente dal luogo in cui il legno è stato inizialmente raccolto) dovranno esercitare la Dovuta Diligenza ai sensi del Regolamento (UE) n. 995/2010, analogamente a quanto già previsto per qualsiasi approvvigionamento da Paesi extra-UE
• il sistema di licenze FLEGT non si applicherà più al Regno Unito

The Withdrawal Agreement provides for a transition period ending on 31 December 2020. Until that date, EU law in its entirety applies to and in the United Kingdom.

From the 1st January 2021 the following requirements will be mandatory:

• it will be a legal requirement for all wood packaging material moving in both directions between UK and the EU to be compliant with a treatment and mark as specified in the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures n.15 (ISPM15), like any other non-EU countries
• all operators who import timber and timber products from the United Kingdom (no matter where the timber was initially harvested) are under the obligation to exercise Due Diligence according to Regulation (EU) n. 995/2010, as already in place for any procurement from non-EU countries
• FLEGT scheme no longer applies to the United Kingdom
