Basing on the 50 years experience in the branch of wooden packaging and pallets, we invented -and later developped together with Corali spa of Carobbio d.A. (Bg)- some prototypes of “half-pallets” mm 600×800.

On the base of proper commercial Agreements, it was agreed that Corali got legally  patented for  such “half-pallets”  provided they will correspond our company a certain royalty.

These half-pallets  represent a real good alternative to “Dusseldorfer”, the half-pallets currently used till now that have the 6 blocks placed not in axis with the top for the forking by manual transpallets.

The new half-pallets have the following better virtues:
– they are cheaper;
– they don’t need any expensive maintenance such as the replacement of metallic frames or rivets
– the load is more stable, not unbalanced on one side for blocks not in axis

By next September a new assembling line by a french manufacturer  will be fully  mounted  and run.

It is a line composed of  3 fully  autimatical machines respectively  duputed to  the nailing  of tops, bottoms and to the  final assemblage  of the whole pallet.
The line is equipped with robots for the conveyance of components  into masks,  as well as  with smaller devices for  the finishing operations for each sort of pallets,  and with long conveyors stop-areas for the temporary rest  of the parts of pallets waiting for the next phases.

It is fully automatical and has a capacity of n° 600 pallets per hour.
The greatest innovative aspect of this line is the system to change the lots that is executed fully automatically  basing on PC processed data, where no human intervention is necessary. Lots changes will then take max. 4 – 5  minutes, enabling to produce also very short lots  pallets without the  incidence of those costs laying also on non-productive time.    Thus will garantee our Clients to count on the most competitive sale-prices and on a higher flexibility that it was before.

Last but not least,  it will be possible to restrain the average storing  of finished pallets in stock.

To install it properly it was necessary to enlarge the covered productive area of 1.500 sqm more and to make the technical equipments  adequate.
The whole expence was of 2 millions euros approxmately

Many of the  consumers of a  well known type of fills pills  were affected by serious sicknesses; consequently  the famous USA pharmaceutical  Company  had to recollect  a big  quantity of such product  from  International markets

The pharma-Company discovered  that the pills had been contaminated by tri-bromo-anisole and by tri-bromo-phenol whose presence was afterwards detected on pallets used for the storage of the pills boxes.

In other words  the timber used for the pallets had been treated with chemicals against  mould and fungi  but the chemical compound had decayed and developed tri-bromo-anisole and by tri-bromo-phenol.  In order to reassure our Clients involved in pharma and food branches who have got  worried by this news, we wish  to illustrate  our procedures:

1. Even in observance of  Epal pallets Specifications, we have never provisioned  raw material previously treated for chemical preservation, as well as we have never bought  it from Countries of South America  despite its cheap price, because overthere the use of  chemical agents for timber  preservation is a common habit.

2. Recently, theUIC has officially withdrawn the allowance to use  “Sinesto AS”  as wood-fungicide,  but  even before that we had NEVER bought raw material treated with this chemical. Besides the ordinary quality controls,  we systematically also check the eventual presence of this chemical. We use a special Cobalti Rhodanium reagent kit that makes wood become blue-colored when it was treated with Sinesto.

3. To protect our raw material we have been using for more than 20 only heat treatment by drying kilns and often we have encouraged as well our suppliers to furnish with these  such equipments  (often have also  financed them for this purpose).

4. In addition to the traditional drying, for those Clients who aim to a  true  sanitization of pallets,  we are able to provide a special additional microwave treatment.

In 2006 we projected  and built a microwave system (350 kwatt power) provided with methane burner for hot air ventilation (1.200.000 kcalh power).

The microwaves operate on the molecular dipole of water in the core of wood. Thanks to this process together with the  high temperature of the chamber, all  biotic agents are killed, as well as the anisoles mentioned at the beginning.

Concluding, we wish to stress one’s attention on the circumstance that this MW process is much more efficacious for a full  sanitization than the ISPM 15 FAO Treatment (56°C for 30 minutes) whose goal  is to fight some xilofages only such  as the Pine wood Nematode (Bursaphelencus Xylophilus) and the Citrus Long-horned Beetle(Anoplophora chinensis), and not all pests as it happens in the MW process.

The Company is allowed to mark “PalOk” its pallets. FitOk is a Project  by Assoimballaggi (main Association of pallets and packaging producers) in cooperation with CRIL-Centro Ricerche Imballaggi e Logistica.

Practically, , the Company will  certify  the max. weight capacity  according to  ISO 8611 rules and hot-stamp it on each pallet eventually provided.

The max. weight capacity certified is the result of a series of  laboratory trials as per the ISO rules mentioned above.Therefore,  the Customer,  which uses these pallets properly will set an important prevention act,  and in the same time is automatically manleved against legal responsabilities in case of pallets break-down.

Practically the Customer can purchase pallets that will be the better compromise between  highest  safety and robustness and of  lowest costs and envinmental impact.
